About Chemi Chemi Organization

Chemi Chemi is a grassroots not-for-profit organization registered in Kenya under the NGO Coordination Act 1990 reg. OP.218/051/20-012/11776 in 2020. Chemi Chemi promotes human rights awareness creation, governance, and education and contributes to environmental conservation, improved incomes, resilience, and food security. Chemi Chemi is committed to serving humanity and is primarily engaged in community empowerment through capacity building, economic empowerment, environment conservation, sustainable agricultural practices, and social justice. Vision: Empowered and resilient communities Mission: Empower local communities with knowledge and skills through holistic approaches to sustainable development Motto: Service to Humanity is Service to God Chemi Chemi has employed the Population, Health, and Environment (PHE) model and the Right Based approach as development strategies. The focus areas are: 1. Capacity building – education (formal & informal), awareness creation, rehabilitation of underserved communities 2. Environment - protection, conservation, and sustainable management, 3. Population & Health 4. Economic empowerment – IGAs(SMEs), entrepreneurship, and promoting green enterprise 5. Governance: - Policy frameworks, decision making, and accountability. Chemi Chemi Objectives are: a. To advocate for social justice and public accountability in protecting and promoting the rights of children, youth, and women b. To advocate for an enabling policy and legal environment for the meaningful participation of children, youth, women, and men in public decision-making. c. To provide quality formal education to underprivileged children and vocational training to young adults who dropped out of school due to adolescent parenthood. d. To promote sustainable management of the environment for improved conservation of natural resources and mitigate adverse effects of climate change. e. To enhance sustainable livelihoods among local communities for improved incomes, resilience, and food security
