About Billian Music Family

The Billian music family is a resource center in the heart of Mathare Nairobi. The second biggest slum in Kenya. It's purpose is to serve the community especially the children and the youth. We provide a safe space for Education and talent development programs. We have a community library that serves up to 100 children annually providing them with a space for tuition, study materials and learning programs like the Learn and Earn program where students ace mathematical equations online and accumulate smiley coins which can be redeemed for school necessities or pay for school fees arrears. We have the life skills sessions that help children in their puberty period overcome peer pressure and understand their body changes and also to help them make right decisions in life while still young hence preventing drug abuse, crime and teenage pregnancy. We offer free sanitary towels to our girls in the community every month. We have a music program that helps nurture children talents by teaching them music instruments like Bass guitar, acoustic guitar, Piano, Drumsets and percussion. We also include modern dance classes and help young artists record their songs once they qualify in our writing and vocals classes. We won the Hollywood award in 2019 for our Birthday of hope documentary short in 2010. We are committed to shaping the future of children from vulnerable communities since 2010
