About Women and Development Against Distress In Africa

Women and Development Against Distress in Africa (WADADIA) is a Kenyan women-found and women-led nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering marginalized women and girls, focusing on their bio-psychosocial health and socio-economic rights. At WADADIA, we recognize the profound psychological trauma experienced by survivors of sexual and gender-based violence, women with Childbirth and pelvic floor injuries, including obstetric fistulas, cystoceles, and rectoceles and other marginalized women and girls in Kenya. These individuals often face significant barriers in accessing mental health services, which are crucial for their recovery and overall well-being. Our organization is committed to addressing these challenges by providing comprehensive psychosocial support and mental health resources. By empowering these women and girls with the tools and support they need, we aim to enhance their resilience and enable them to lead healthier, more fulfilling lives.
