About Seriana Foundation

Introduction Seriana Foundation registered in 2022, is an NGO making a lasting impact in Kenyan society. Seriana is a Maasai word meaning ‘a place of peace’, in English, Seriana means ‘you are the foundation of society.’ We believe it is possible to alleviate poverty in Africa. Our Mission is to serve the vulnerable with compassion. Creating a world where children have access to clean, safe, drinking water and families can participate in reversing climate action. Empowering leading ladies across the African Continent as we celebrate luminaries and mentor the next generation. Our Vision is to create a better world for all. Objectives 1. Create partnerships with communities living in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) for provision of water solutions, digging wells and water pans for domestic and wildlife consumption. 2. Planting and growing at least 1 million trees, collectively in all the areas we provide water. 3. Leveraging platforms that celebrate leading ladies, youth and women of excellence. Offerring mentorship to the next generation, highlighting gender equity and equality to combat aspects of gender-based violence, particularly in rural communities. 4. Contributing to opening African culture to STEM with global partners, luminating 21st Century skills for Africa’s young population. Strategies and Activities To achieve our objectives, we will implement the following strategies and activities. 1. Partner with government, civil society, philanthropists, and other charity organizations that support activities related with water solutions, women empowerment, and capacity building 2. For every home benefiting from our water access, we will provide seedlings for them to plant fruit trees and indigenous trees 3. Build the capacity of local communities around animal and wildlife habitats to prevent and effectively respond to zoonotic diseases (diseases that are transmissible between humans and animals) 4. Strengthen uptake of STEM related courses to local schools in hard to reach communities Expected Outcomes 1. Communities that can access clean, safe drinking water for domestic consumption 2. Reduced incidences of human wildlife conflict 3. Reduced burden of priority zoonotic diseases (Trachoma, Rift Valley Fever, Anthrax, Bovin TB, among others) within disease hotspot counties by 2027 4. Outline stories of excellence from each of the 54 African Country on women luminaries, beginning with one story per country 5. Teach STEM to local schools focusing on vulnerable communities Partnerships and Collaborations At Seriana Foundation, we value and recognize the importance of partnerships in achieving our goals. We intend to work closely with Government, civil society, philanthropists and other charity organizations to leverage resources, expertise and networks to maximize impact. Conclusion Seriana Foundation is committed to making a positive and sustainable difference in the lives of our targeted beneficiaries. Through our clear mission, well-defined objectives, strategic approach, and collaborative efforts, we aim to address the root causes of poverty and create a better future for all. We invite you to join us in this transformative journey by supporting our cause, lending your expertise, or becoming actively involved. Together we can create a society where everyone has access to clean water and families are empowered to live abundantly.
