Problem Statement

In informal settlements like Mathare, informal childcare centers lack food services. Children often go hungry or eat poor-quality food, while caregivers struggle with the time and cost of meal preparation.

Proposed Solution

The project connects local women vendors to prepare and deliver nutritious meals at Ksh 30/child. This community-led model ensures consistent access to quality food for vulnerable children.

Expected Impact

The project aims to serve 500,000 meals to 1,000 children, improving health and nutrition. It will create jobs for vendors and delivery agents while allowing caregivers to focus on child development.

Sustainability Plan

Mama's Lunch is designed to be self-sustaining through revenue from meal sales. Strategic partnerships with wholesale suppliers and farmers will enhance profitability and operational efficiency.
