Intervention Areas
Target Population
Problem Statement
Schools and communities face conflicts that are often resolved poorly due to a lack of mediation skills. This can lead to violence and social discord among youth and within the wider community.
Proposed Solution
Train 180 student peer mediators and sensitize 5,000 parents and stakeholders. Integrate conflict resolution strategies into the school curriculum and foster dialogue through forums.
Expected Impact
Reduced school-based conflicts and promotion of a culture of non-violence. Empowered youth capable of resolving disputes in schools and communities. Strengthened relationships between schools and parents.
Sustainability Plan
Integration of mediation programs into the school curriculum ensures continuity. Policy advocacy aims to replicate the model across other institutions, embedding peace education in the education sector.
