Problem Statement

Homa Bay has alarmingly high HIV and teen pregnancy rates, fueled by 'sex for fish' practices and cross-generational relationships. Schools lack effective, context-specific SRH education.

Proposed Solution

Implement an evidence-based HIV/ASRH curriculum in schools. Train teachers and peer leaders to deliver health education and hold community dialogues to shift cultural norms.

Expected Impact

Reduced new HIV infections and teen pregnancies among adolescents (10-16 years). Improved school capacity to handle SRH issues and stronger collaboration between duty bearers and the community.

Sustainability Plan

The project trains peer leaders and teachers to continue health education indefinitely. Integrating SRH into school budgets and systems ensures the program persists after grant funding ends.
