Our partners in this project are CBOs in the area, individuals from the community (community champions), and organizations outside of Viwandani willing to donate goods for the feeding project. We have also liaised with the local government in form of the senior chief of the area.

Project Summary

The Thriving Health Feeding Project combats child hunger in Mukuru Sinai by providing nutritious porridge to 200+ food-insecure children. It aims to improve health, reduce malnutrition, and keep children in school.

Problem Statement

Extreme poverty in Mukuru Sinai leads to severe child hunger and malnutrition, causing health issues and high school dropout rates.

Proposed Solution

Provide nutritious porridge (rich in zinc/iron) to 200+ children and support families with cooking essentials like water and fuel.

Expected Impact

Reduced child hunger/malnutrition, improved physical/mental health, and decreased school dropout rates for 200-1000 children.

Sustainability Plan

Initially reliant on fundraising, the project plans to establish youth-led sustainable businesses and a SACCO to foster economic empowerment.
