ARDHA JABESA foundation is Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) that was registered in the year 2021 under section 10 of the NGOs Coordination ACT, 1990 under Registration Certificate N0.OP.218/051/21-310/12345 Dated 19th November, 2021. The organization has been operating as Charitable Nonprofit organization since 2017 and later gained NGO status in the year 2021. The organization area of operations includes the following counties in Kenya namely; Isiolo, Samburu, Marsabit, Wajir and Tana River. Ardha Jabesa Foundation could also be defined as an implementing organization which designs and implements various developmental with the financial and technical support and partnership with local and international partners and the two levels of Government. Ardha Jabesa Foundation works with the pastoral and agro-pastoral communities of Isiolo, Samburu, Marsabit, Wajir and Tana River counties in Kenya, In particular we work with communities whose operations and targeting by other actors is minimal i.e. mobile pastoralists, rural and peri-urban communities with minimal contacts with other agencies. Ardha Jabesa Foundations approach to Community development is motivated by the relationship between the communities living across the neighboring Counties and their interdependence and connection to their natural ASAL ecosystem due to the perennial nomadic pastoralist lifestyle. The organization programmes focuses on the cross counties -border approach that is intended to build synergy and enhance communities engagement and resilience to recurrent disaster threats and risks resulting from fragile climatic condition. Ardha Jabesa Foundation envisions bridging the gap between the local community and the outside world through community-driven development initiatives for long-term sustainable benefits. The Foundation is concerned with amongst others; the need to facilitate and champion the target community by empowering them through integrated programs built on positive cultural and progressive practices to utilize available local resources and enhanced sustainable livelihoods and development. Ardha Jabesa Foundation has thus focused on the following Five (5) thematic areas; 1. Sustainable Livelihood Support with focus on vulnerable Girl child affairs and Women and Youth empowerment initiatives in Northern Kenya 2. Peace, governance and social-economic integration 3. Land & Sustainable Natural Resources Management 4. Rights based Advocacy. 5. Water, Sanitation & hygiene community services (WASH) In furtherance of the foregoing thematic areas, the organization endeavors to implement the following specific objectives among others; 1. Promotes vulnerable children education & health nutrition in the agro- pastoralist society. 2. Promotes and supports Humanitarian relief to the marginalized and vulnerable population in Northern Kenya 3. Support and Promotes Youths and Women empowerment initiatives in the community through sustainable livelihood programs 4. Promotes an initiative that helps Youths in Behavioral change habit that discourages them from social delinquency 5. Enhance good Governance, Social Cohesion and Community integration/coexistence among communities. 6. To advocate and lobby for policy and legislation that effectively protects the rights of local communities. 7. To advocate against FGM, Early marriages and other Gender based violence (GBV) among pastoralist communities that effectively protects the rights of Girl child and women in the society. 8. To Promote Enhanced Sustainable Natural Resource Management and Lobby for Community Land rights 9. Enhance Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) in the community.
