About Gifted Community Centre, (GCC)

Gifted Community Centre was founded in 2008 and operationalized in 2019, formed for and by youth with disabilities (all types of disabilities, 10-40 years) in the Kibera slums. We target youth with disabilities in the informal settlements, students/graduates with disabilities, and self-help groups established by youth/persons with disabilities. We exist to promote social and economic independence of youth with disabilities and their families/caregivers in the informal settlements of Kenya. So far, we have reached 2000 persons with disabilities in the slums, 190 students with disabilities, over 500 families/households, and supported establishment of 15 self-help groups.
