GRADIF-Kenya whose Vision is to see an empowered, resilient society that respects the rights of children and actively engaging in sustainable development, is a Public Community Development Foundation founded in the year 2006 and legally registered with the registrar of companies as a Company Limited by Guarantee in May, 2007 and issued with relevant Certifications. The Goal of the Foundation is to support the improvement of life of vulnerable and marginalized community groups in selected poverty stricken and resource scarce areas in Kenya focusing more on rural Arid and Semi-Arid (ASAL) regions. The Niche of GRADIF-Kenya is through working with legally organized community groups who are the key drivers of the development agenda. To promote effectiveness, wide reach and sustainability of projects/programs, GRADIF-K works with organized, legally registered community groups& related structures, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), Faith Based organizations, Youth Groups, relevant County Governments departments, Corporate/Private sector, Research and Institutions of learning in the implementation of age-appropriate, rights based, gender sensitive, cultural responsive and environmentally friendly community based poverty reduction programs. All of the GRADIF-K programs are geared towards contributing towards the realization of Kenyas Vision 2030 Goals, Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and Education for All (EFA). The key broad areas (thematic areas) of our work include; Citizen Participation and Governance, Economic Livelihoods, Social Protection, and Organizational capacity development. GRADIF-K has gained wide experiences in the implementation of outlined projects in the past 16 plus years in various counties in Kenya with commendable results. Over time, GRADIF-K has developed healthy and cordial working relationships with diverse range of partners, collaborators relevant County and National Governments departments, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) Community Based Development groups, International Development agencies, Non-Governmental Organizations, research & learning institutions and community technical resource persons in the implementation of all programs. We are currently working with more than 396 community development groups in all counties served. Location of our offices at Kahawa Wendani Kiambu County,(National Coordinating Office) and Field Offices in ChukaTown, Tharaka Nithi County, Embu, Nyeri, Laikipia and Isiolo. In some counties, GRADIF-Kenya is hosted by various development partners.
