About Jazza Library and Arts Hub

PREFACE JazzALibrary & Arts Hub: Filling Minds, Fulfilling Futures JazzA Library & Arts Hub, situated in Kamulu, Kenya, serves as a vibrant art center and community-centered library. Founded on the Swahili and Musical concept of "Jaza," and “Jazz” meaning "to fill up," JazzA aims to merge the captivating spirit of music and art with the literary essence of books, encouraging creativity to flourish. The dedicated team at JazzA endeavors to provide the underserved communities of Kawangware and Eastlands in Nairobi, and later all of Kenya, the opportunity to explore reading, ignite excitement about literature, and bridge the literacy gap. “JazzA Communities” are founded on the belief that Equitable Access to Information is the Catalyst for Social Mobility. Our Goal Promoting Equity through access to shared knowledge and skills in education and arts as a catalyst for social mobility. CHAPTER ONE Our Mission The JazzALibrary & Arts Hub is dedicated to empowering underserved communities in the Kawangware slums, Eastlands, and throughout Kenya by offering access to reading materials, knowledge resources, and creative platforms. Our goal is to enhance social mobility and bridge the literacy gap by fostering a culture of reading and critical thinking. We believe literacy goes beyond comprehension—it is a tool for shaping active, informed, and engaged citizens who can contribute meaningfully to society.
