About Kalyet Afya Foundation (KAF)

Kalyet Afya Foundation (KAF) is a local non-profit organization based in Molo Sub-County that offers a range of healthcare and family planning services to rural communities and marginalized areas that cannot afford the cost of healthcare or the cost of transport to healthcare facilities. This includes information and awareness raising to dispel myths and create a better understanding of the benefits of family planning, HIV testing and counseling, and preventative cancer testing. Our services are free of charge and include a range of modern contraception methods (short and long-term reversible methods), HIV testing and counseling, cancer screening, and immunizations. This is done by holding mobile clinics in various locations. KAF works to increase access to sexual and reproductive health and rights for everyone. We are committed to expanding access to quality sexual and reproductive health services that allow each woman to make an informed choice about whether she wishes to consume the services. Young Women Empowerment through Skill Training is a project developed to empower and support rural destitute young women aged 18–35 (widowed, divorced, single mothers, and married women) in Molo Sub-County who are unemployed and lack practical skills that are important to enhance their possibility of generating an income and becoming self-sustained. We, therefore, equip women with skills like making liquid soap, bar soap, and joint farming. KAF seeks to guarantee the financial security of young women by equipping them with a vocational course. We will thus provide six months of tailoring training to the identified young women, provide sewing machines and one over-lock machine, introduce table banking activities, and introduce finance and business management skills, which will help them become familiar with profit and loss accounts, which will be useful in maintaining their businesses and finances. Kalyet Afya Foundation will engage qualified and experienced personnel to impart the required training. We aim to train 14 women with tailoring skills in a year.
