About Kibra Youth Boxing Initiative

The Kibra Youth Boxing Initiative (KYBI) is a transformative community-based project aimed at empowering the youth of Kibera, one of the largest informal settlements in Africa. At the core of KYBI's mission is the use of boxing as a tool for positive change, providing a structured and supportive environment where children and teenagers can learn discipline, self-confidence, and resilience. Beyond the physical training, KYBI is deeply committed to holistic development. We offer a comprehensive support system that includes education enhancement, skill-building workshops, and societal education covering crucial topics like sexual health. Additionally, KYBI is dedicated to fostering a sense of environmental stewardship among participants through community environmental education. This multifaceted approach ensures that while boxing may be the hook that draws the youth in, they leave with a broad spectrum of skills and knowledge that contribute to their personal development and the well-being of the Kibera community at large.
