Kisumu Disabled Self help Group (KIDSEG) is a dedicated community based organization registered in the year 2003 to champion the rights and opportunities of girls and women with disabilities in Kisumu County. KIDSEG aim to foster an inclusive society where every girl and woman, regardless of ability, can live, work, and thrive with dignity and autonomy. Our multifaceted programs focus on empowering girls and women with disabilities through economic support, advocacy, inclusive sports, health rights, and much more. Mission Statement: To empower girls and women with disabilities across Kisumu County to reach their full potential through improved health, education, and economic participation. Vision: We envision communities where every girl and woman, regardless of ability, enjoys equal rights, respect, and access to essential services for wellbeing. KIDSEG Objectives: 1) Close gender disparities exacerbating poor health outcomes and violations of sexual/reproductive rights among disabled females in target regions. 2) Equip women and girls with disabilities with health knowledge and self-advocacy skills to demand their entitled care and protections. 3) Foster economic inclusion and independence for women with disabilities via vocational skills training, savings groups and business development. 4) Amplify voice of disability community advocating for policy changes ensuring accessible, affordable and appropriate healthcare. 5) Cultivate evidence-based models of gender/disability-responsive health practices among county providers through facilitated learning exchanges
