Life Mtaani Community is a nonprofit organization based in Mathare slums, Nairobi, dedicated to empowering young people aged 13-29 through creative arts, life skills training, filmmaking, and mentorship. Our mission is to equip youth with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to overcome lifes challenges, discover their purpose, and contribute positively to society. We focus on providing: Creative Arts Mentorship to enhance skills in beadwork, sewing, and crafts, fostering self-expression and economic empowerment. Life Skills Training through programs like Mizizi Club, covering emotional health, goal setting, and purpose discovery, helping youth make informed and confident decisions. Filmmaking Training to nurture storytelling, technical skills, and creativity, empowering young people to tell their own impactful stories through film and open up career opportunities in the creative industry. Youth Empowerment initiatives addressing critical challenges such as drug addiction, unemployment, and teenage pregnancies, while fostering resilience and leadership. Life Mtaani is particularly focused on promoting gender equality, striving to empower young women to overcome the hardships many face in our community and create a better future for themselves. In a community grappling with limited access to resources and opportunities, Life Mtaanis programs provide the support, mentorship, and skills young people need to unlock their full potential. Our vision is to transform Mathare into a hub of creativity and opportunity, where every young person has the skills and confidence to thrive. We invite you to join us in empowering the next generation of leaders and creatives in Mathare.
