About Queen Dada Daycare

Queen Dada Daycare is a social enterprise located in Kilifi Town, one of the less developed municipalities in Kenya. 60% of Kilifi county residents are women and mothers who have low economic status due to low education levels. Additionally, mothers quit jobs annually due to limited or unpaid maternity leave, patriarchal culture and unreliable nannies. Unfortunately in Kilifi, there are also no 24 hour daycare centers to meet the growing demand for quality and affordable childcare where 1 in every 4 mothers is looking for daycare, a state which excludes mothers who work nightshift or not confined to the 8.00am to 5.00pm system. At Queen Dada Daycare we offer a solution to this marginalized population by offering mothers a 24 hour daycare solution. We offer services including, daycare, drop ins, night care, travelling parent packages and training to mothers on children first aid and basic care. As a results, we enable working mothers and aspiring to work mothers balance their motherhood role and work, school or social life, by providing a fun and affordable childcare service to them consequently leading to economic independence. This in the long run empowers Kilifi community economically as most mothers are be able to productively participate in their paid work hence raise the economic growth index of Kilifi County.
