Target Population

Low-Income Individuals & FamiliesVulnerable or Marginalized Populations (General)

Problem Statement

Public participation in health budgeting is low, leading to unresponsive services, wastage of funds, and corruption. Citizens lack the mechanisms to hold duty bearers accountable for poor healthcare delivery.

Proposed Solution

Train citizen groups and ward leaders in advocacy, social audits, and budget tracking. Facilitate engagement forums between the community and county government officials.

Expected Impact

Increased health budget allocation (target 75% utilization). Improved satisfaction with health services among the elderly and vulnerable. Institutionalization of citizen surveillance committees.

Sustainability Plan

Sustainability is ensured by training local leaders as trainers (ToTs) and establishing permanent citizen oversight committees. These structures continue to monitor services and engage government independently.
