Project Summary

Edu-sports uses football to deliver life skills and SRH information to adolescents in Mombasa. It engages youth in sports to prevent teenage pregnancies and drug abuse while promoting environmental responsibility.

Problem Statement

Adolescents in informal settlements face high risks of HIV, early pregnancy, and drug abuse. There is a lack of engaging platforms to educate them on sexual and reproductive health.

Proposed Solution

Train youth coaches to deliver life skills through sports. Establish a plastic recycling plant to engage youth in environmental conservation and income generation.

Expected Impact

Reach 3,000 adolescents with SRH information. Referral of 200 youth to health services. Establishment of a plastic recycling enterprise to support youth employment.

Sustainability Plan

The project integrates with the Department of Health for ongoing monitoring. The plastic recycling plant creates a revenue stream to support youth activities and project costs.
