Problem Statement

Traditional crops like maize frequently fail due to drought, leading to poverty and deforestation. Farmers lack access to quality seedlings and knowledge of high-value crop farming.

Proposed Solution

Promote farming of essential oil crops and establish greenhouses for seedling propagation. Train farmers in agronomy and connect them to value-addition markets.

Expected Impact

Significant increase in farmer incomes (up to 5x maize earnings). Restoration of soil health and biodiversity. Enhanced resilience to climate change through drought-tolerant cropping.

Sustainability Plan

Income from the sale of seedlings and agricultural produce sustains the project. Developing robust value chains for essential oils ensures a permanent, profitable market for farmers.
