Problem Statement

Women with disabilities in Orongo face food insecurity, poverty, and limited economic opportunities, exacerbated by climate change and lack of agricultural skills.

Proposed Solution

Train 30 women with disabilities in organic mushroom farming and soil management, and provide infrastructure (water systems, shelves) for production.

Expected Impact

Increased income and food security, availability of affordable protein, improved social status/self-esteem for disabled women, and economic independence.

Sustainability Plan

Sustainability is built on community networks, market linkages to hotels, and reinvesting agri-business profits. Knowledge transfer ensures long-term practice.
