Problem Statement

Machakos residents face a severe lack of affordable dental services. The existing community facility is dormant due to a lack of equipment and high operational costs, leaving preventable oral diseases untreated.

Proposed Solution

Equip the facility with a digital X-ray, lab equipment, and a solar power plant to reduce costs. Drill a borehole for water supply and recruit skilled dental professionals.

Expected Impact

Restoration of essential dental services for thousands of residents. Reduction in oral health disparities and economic burden on families. Creation of jobs and a hub for dental research.

Sustainability Plan

The center generates revenue through affordable service fees and insurance accreditation (SHIF). Solar power and a borehole significantly reduce overhead costs, enhancing financial viability.
