The implementation of the Maa Pad Bank project involves several key partners: The Brilliant Feminine: As the proposing organization, they are the primary implementers, overseeing strategic direction, project design, and overall management. Local Management Committee: This crucial partner comprises representatives from school administration, parents, women's groups, and youth. They are actively involved in the daily operations of the Maa Pad Bank, including distribution scheduling, inventory management, and community outreach. Local Community Members: This includes adolescent girls, boys, teachers, and community health workers who will be trained as MHM champions, leading peer-to-peer education and facilitating workshops. The Samburu Project: The Brilliant Feminine plans to leverage existing networks like The Samburu Project to cultivate strong partnerships. Local Government: Partnerships will be cultivated with local government bodies to advocate for increased support for MHM initiatives in schools and ensure long-term policy alignment and funding. Private Sector: Collaboration with the private sector is anticipated, particularly in exploring diversified funding streams and potential subsidized sales of hygiene products. Other NGOs: The project aims to cultivate partnerships with other non-governmental organizations to leverage existing networks and resources.

Problem Statement

Period poverty in Samburu forces girls to miss school and compromises their dignity. Lack of access to products and open dialogue exacerbates health risks and educational inequality.

Proposed Solution

Establish a fabricated container hub to distribute 5,000 hygiene kits annually. Provide MHM education and foster community dialogue to break stigma.

Expected Impact

Reduced school absenteeism and infections. Improved academic performance and mental well-being. Restoration of dignity and increased participation of girls in leadership and sports.

Sustainability Plan

A local management committee oversees operations. The project explores local production of reusable pads and subsidized sales to create a revolving fund. 'Colors of Change' events raise continuous funds.
